Ani Dechen's Update: Nov 2012

Just
for your kind information, I want to present an update of studies at
the college.
The
nuns first year at the college is Pre-first Year where they are
introduced to basic Buddhist texts: Letter to a Friend by
Acharya Nagarjuna and basic Buddhist dialetic texts divided into parts
and basic Tibetan, English or Hindi. But the actual course starts from
class 1 which is their second year at the college.
Besides, Buddhist philosophy and languages classes, the nuns take active participation in philosophical debate sessions.
The
class 1 ( Second Year )nuns study Bodhisattvacaryavatara by Learned
Acharya Shantideva and its commentary by Ngulchu Thokmed.
The senior students who are in class 3 ( Fourth Year )
study Prajnamulamadhyamaka Karika text by Learned Acharya Nagarjuna and
its commentary by Kunkhyen Gorampa. The nuns are regularly attending
Buddhist philosophy teachings and debate sessions at evening and night.
